Dustin (Dusty) Hamacher is a Triple Win Strategies, LLC (TWS) Contributor. A retired U.S. Coast Guard Captain, Dusty served for 26 years, his last assignment being the Assistant Program Executive Officer (PEO) for USCG Surface Programs where he oversaw the entire shipbuilding budget from heavy icebreakers to small boats. While serving, he was also the Program Manager for the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC), Program Manager’s Representative/Test Director for the National Security Cutter (NSC) and Assistant Chief of Coast Guard Industrial and Maintenance Facilities.
Dusty’s forte is to assist others in capture strategy, acquisition strategy, proposal development, negotiations, and program/project management having led project teams from contract conception through sea trials and delivery. His additional skills are in the area of quality assurance, production, continuous improvement, and change management.
Dusty holds a bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and a master’s degree in business administration for STEM Professionals from Purdue University, Krannert School of Management. He is a registered Mechanical Engineer (PE), and Project Management Professional (PMP), and held a DHS Level III (ACAT I) Program Manager certification and completed extensive DAU coursework in Production, Quality & Manufacturing, Logistics, and System Engineering. In his spare time he teaches courses in manufacturing workforce skills for the local community college. Dusty is a member three veteran’s service groups as well as being on the county’s Veteran’s Council. He also volunteers at his church, his daughter’s school and at Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management in various capacities.
